Little was so special in so many ways, I'm not sure I can list them all. She was part of a puppy mill shut down and came from horrible conditions. The only life she knew was living in a kennel and having babies. It took us months to gain her trust, especially of men, and even longer for her to learn how to behave like a normal dog. Always submissive, the slightest wrong move would send her running in fear.
As
she progressed, she became our world. It's hard not to have
that happen when you devote so much effort into rehabilitating a dog.
She was with us just 1 week shy of a year, and we'd discussed
adopting her ourselves for months,
but we had our beloved cats to
consider. You see, Little just hated them, and because she deserved
a true home of her own, we let her go.
It took someone very special to talk us out of her, and we know we made the right decision in placing her with George! When the pictures and updates come to us, it is always the highlight of our day!!!
