This is Joe. He was found wandering the streets in the
middle of the night. From his callouses it’s obvious he lived
outdoors on concrete his whole life. Joe is old, we don’t know how
old but he’s no youngster. He has a big scar on his back,
presumably from a chemical burn. He has only one canine tooth, the rest
of his teeth are ground down to nubs. Joe has a lot of grey on his
muzzle
so we presume he is an old guy. Adopting out old dogs is often very
difficult. Most people who come to rescue basically want a young dog,
so
they can get a bullmastiff at a reduced price. Luckily for Joe, Susan
came along and didn’t care about his age, or his scars or his
callouses. Joe has some behavior issues because he’s never
had someone setting boundaries or teaching him manners. Susan LOVES
Joe,
warts and all and has committed to giving him a home with the comforts
he’s
never known. He’s now a house dog, he has soft pillow beds to
lay on, and good food. His coat is already improving drastically. He
seeks love and attention and wants to be a good dog. Though he still
has
hurdles in terms of training, Susan is going the distance with Joe, and
he’ll
never be on the streets alone again. Joe has found his FOREVER
home, thanks to Susan, and she has a wonderful companion, guard dog and
unconditional love in return. Joe is one of the lucky ones.
